Frequently Asked Questions

Where are in-person classes located?

In the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.

How much are in-person classes?

$400/month.

How long are in-person classes and how many months does the program last?

Each class is three hours long and we meet twice a week. The entire program spans one year.

What is taught?

Mostly influenced by the Meisner Technique we teach The Repetition Exercise, The Door and Activity Exercise, Improvisation, Emotional Preparation, Script Analysis, Particularization, Fantasy, Impediments, Characterization, Speeches (Monologues), and Scene Work. All tools are designed to get the actor out of their head and into the moment by training their instincts to drive their acting.

Is this an on-camera class?

No. This is focused on the art of acting primarily. The actor, once trained, can take the skills they develop at Anytown Actors LAB wherever they’d like afterwards whether on stage or on camera.

Can you study longer than a year?

No. We believe in creating independent, self-sufficient actors who are not dependent on instructors after they’ve trained with us for a year.

Do you guarantee we will book work?

Nothing in life is guaranteed. We don’t believe in lying to the actor to sell them on a class. If you get better at acting your chances of working increase and we are dedicated to your growth every single week.

Can you do scenes from film and television?

Scenes will be chosen by students themselves, but only from plays. No film or television scenes are allowed during training. We believe this prevents any temptation to mimic another’s performance and, generally speaking, plays are dramatized in a way more conducive to an actor’s training.
